WELCOME TO ASGARDBELLE - THE BLOG
Welcome! I thought I'd start this blog with a small introduction about myself. I have written a small About Me page, but I thought it made sense for my first post to explain a bit about myself before I dive into the fantasy, literary world I'm usually living in.
My name is Clo, and I'm 23. Currently, I'm living at home with my parents, sister, 2 dogs and 2 rabbits, however I'm also in the process of moving out with my boyfriend, Josh. Originally I'm from South London but have been living on the South Coast for most of my life now and I absolutely love it there. But soon, I'll be moving slightly up the road to Hampshire and setting up home there.
Of course, in my spare time my favourite thing to do is read, but more on that later. I also like gaming, especially story-rich games like Red Dead Redemption and The Witcher that feed my love of escaping into fictional worlds. My boyfriend also got me into Formula 1, so our Sundays are usually spent watching the Grand Prix - and disagreeing about who we're supporting. I'm a huge McLaren fan and my favourite driver is Lando Norris. Recently, I got to see him achieve a podium finish in Hungary, which was the trip of a lifetime!
When I was younger I loved books and reading, and I think this love was fuelled further by my Mum. We would read things like The Blue Balloon and The Tiger Who Came to Tea and were always taking trips to the library together. Now, my favourite tropes have changed slightly! I love romance books of course, alongside fantasy and history - its even better if I find a book that has all three of these in one. A Court of Thorns and Rose, Once Upon a Broken Heart, Throne of Glass and Magnolia Parks are some of my favourite book series I've read recently, but my favourite book of all time is The Great Gatsby. I studied it in Sixth Form and it instantly became my favourite book; the decadence, the setting of the 1920s, the imagination of their fashion and of course the character of Jordan Baker. Another favourite of mine is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - again, I loved the historic setting of this in Old Hollywood.
So, now I've decided to set up my Bookstagram as a place I can share my current read, reviews of my reads and for general book talk and chat. I'd also love to kickstart my career in publishing, which is why I've also branched out to here and set up a blog so that I can enjoy writing in more depth and can share even more book news and excitement.
So welcome and thank you for checking out my blog! Stay tuned for reviews coming soon!
